In recent Oak Café discussions, the issue of how to explain and introduce Systems Engineering into an organization or project has come up. At the next Oak Café (0800 BST, 22 May) this will be the subject of the discussion. Richard Beasley will describe the activities of a new INCOSE international WG on this subject which he is chairing, and lead a discussion exploring:
- The problems / challenges associated with embedding Systems Engineering into an organization.
- Different potential solutions to how Systems Engineering can (successfully!) be embedded.
- Factors that affect both the appropriate level / approach to SE in different organizations, and challenges / approaches to embedding that change
It is clear that there is no one, ideal Systems Engineering organization solution – so the challenge is to understand the factors and issues to consider in order to find the most appropriate to a given organization situation
All inputs welcome – to contribute and share ideas on how to actually ensure the benefits from Systems Engineering can be realized in different organizations
